About me

Why am I walking the Camino? My inspiration first came from the man, the myth, the legend, my dad, Ennodio. In 2018, he completed the Camino Frances and walked over 500 miles. After he completed his Camino, it inspired me to one day, walk one of my own.

A 2019 break-up led to some soul searching and renewed my love of the outdoors and hiking. I healed myself through walking, and when Covid hit, my introverted self thrived with the freedom I had to be alone of trails and challenge myself. I completed 3 14ers in 2020 and looked for the next adventure. In May 2021, my dad, sister Elena and I completed the Salkantay trek in Peru. 5 days of hiking from Cusco to Machu Picchu. And the trekking bug was activated!

I walk this Camino in honor of my family. Special shoutouts shoutouts to my dad who inspired it all and is helping sponsor this walk with me. To my mom, who keeps this crazy family train going and allows me to pursue my dreams. To my twin sister Elena, thank you for watching my fur nugget Ruby so that I can walk with the comfort that my dog having the best time at her Aunties house.

Buen Camino!

Day 11: Arrival in Santiago

Miles walked: 18.59 Total steps: 42,443 Today I woke knowing that it was the final day and woke up with excitement. Little did I know that the Camino was going to make me work for it. How does one sum up this adventure, this battle and this achievement? I have learned many lessons, about my…

Day 10: Caldas de Reis to Padrón

Miles walked: 13.6 Total steps: 31,225 This morning I started out early snd solo to try and avoid some of the loud tourist walkers. Once I departed the city the path was pitch black and my flashlight was necessary to walk the path. I could only see the path directly in front of me and…

Day 9: Pontevedra to Caldas del Reis

Miles walked: 16.54 Total steps: 37, 274 The Camino is full of wild street cats I affectionately call the Camino cats. Much like the wild dogs I saw in Peru on the Salkantay trek these cats do not have owners and seem to run around the town. The dogs are all pets here and tend…

Day 8: Redondela to Pontevedra

Miles walked: 13.46 plus city walking (forgot my charging Apple Watch) Steps: 31,405 We seem to start every morning near the water then we slowly depart away from the coast, climb up a hill of varying degrees of steepness to a beautiful view, then slowly make our way back to coast. That is how I…

Day 7: Vigo to Redondela

Miles walked: 11.43 Total steps: 27,371 We knew today would have 2 things: lower mileage but a steep incline. I was excited for an 11 mile walk today after yesterday’s 20miles but man did we work for those 11 miles. once we departed Vigo we entered a neighborhood built into the hill and we climbed…

Day 6: Baiona to Vigo

Miles walked: 20 Total steps: 48,456 This morning started with rain. We left our stunning view in Baiona and quickly put our rain covers on the backpacks and put our rain gear on. I found the perfect combo of floppy hat under my rain hood that created a little arch over my face, protecting me…

Pre-Camino Day 1: Porto Arrival

Getting on the plane to Portugal felt surreal. It didn’t feel real that the day had finally come. I have become quite the seasoned traveler lately. I wasn’t setting off to Portugal from the U.S.- I was arriving from Singapore after completing 2 back to back work trips to Sydney and Singapore. I’d had been…
